Notice of Provisional Entry of Place in the Tasmanian Heritage Register


In accordance with the Act, the Tasmanian Heritage Council notifies it has provisionally entered the following place or places* in the Tasmanian Heritage Register:

THR 12090, Stace’s Mill site and the Pyrolignite Works site, 2 Strickland Avenue, and 163 Strickland Avenue, South Hobart

THR 12073, Rapson Tyre and Rubber Factory, 86-96 Gleadow Street, 98 Gleadow Street, 100 -106 Gleadow Street, 110 Gleadow Street, 112 Gleadow Street, & 89 Forster Street, Invermay (updating the information held for entry THR 4325)
THR 12122, Cascade Brewery and Woodstock, 127-127A Cascade Road, 131 Cascade Road, 140 & 142 Cascade Road, 2 Strickland Avenue, 8, 10, 12 & 14 Strickland Avenue, South Hobart (updating the information held for entries THR 3082 and THR 3086)
THR 12131, ‘Roonina’, 115 High Street, East Launceston (updating the information held for entry THR 4384)
Members of the public are hereby invited under section 20 of the Act to provide a written submission relating to that intention. Further, under section 19 of the Act, any person has a right to object to the entry(s). 

As per section 19(3) of the Act, an objection may be made only on the basis that the place does not satisfy any of the registration criteria on which the entry is intended to be based. The registration criteria can be found in the datasheet for the place.

 A submission, or objection, must be made in writing and lodged with the Tasmanian Heritage Council within 60 days of the date of this notice.

 An objection will be sufficiently lodged if it is sent to the Chair, Tasmanian Heritage Council, by post to: GPO Box 618 Hobart 7001, or by email to: enquiries@heritage.tas.gov.au​​
